Extra Credit Lab Assignments, Fall - 2004

There will be a total of five extra credit lab assignments this semester.

These are optional assignments, but each one is worth 2 lab points, so all five can give you a total of 10 points to offset a missing lab. 



The average lab, with pre-lab included is worth 6 to 8 points, so these assignments will allow you to make up for a missed lab.

Only one extra credit assignment can be submitted per week though, so plan ahead. 

You cannot complete all five exercises for credit in the last week of the semester.


Note that these extra credit assignments cannot raise your grade for the lab assignments above the maximum value of 25% of the total course grade. 

The extra credit assignments also cannot be added to the lab quiz scores.

Virtual Earthquake

This Internet-based lab activity is posted at the web site above, but use the link to Virtual Earthquake, not the Earthquake link. When you complete the virtual lab you will be able to print off a certificate, with your name on it, that you can give your lab instructor for the extra credit.

Use either the link to Virtual Dating Isochron or Virtual Dating Radiocarbon. Each exercise is worth two points to offset a missing lab.
